Product details & shipping
Turn a physical part into a digital mesh or a 3D printed reproduction with IR Fabrication’s 3D scanning services. Choose a raw scan file, a cleaned print-ready STL file, or scanning with one single-color PETG reproduction. Select the service and size of your original part below; send your item to our shop for scanning, and we return it when the service is complete.
Choose your service
- Raw scan file: Basic STL or OBJ mesh, emailed only. No cleanup, CAD reconstruction or printed reproduction. May contain mesh imperfections. Typical turnaround: 2–4 weeks after receipt.
- Cleaned, print-ready file: Cleaned and repaired STL mesh optimized for printing, emailed only. No physical reproduction or editable CAD/STEP model. Typical turnaround: 2–4 weeks after receipt.
- Scan + PETG reproduction: Scanning, print-file preparation and one single-color PETG printed reproduction. Original and printed copy shipped back. Contact us if you require digital file delivery or another material. Typical turnaround: 2–5 weeks after receipt.
Part size — longest dimension
- Small: up to 6 inches.
- Medium: over 6 through 12 inches.
- Large: over 12 through 16 inches.
Over 16 inches, damaged, incomplete, multi-piece or unusually complex parts require a custom quote before ordering.
Printed part assembly: Printed reproductions over 12 inches on the longest side cannot be guaranteed in one piece. They may require separate sections connected with alignment pegs and matching holes. We discuss section layout and assembly with you before production.
Free return shipping: Return shipment within the contiguous United States is included for all services, including the original part and any included printed copy. You pay to ship your original to our shop. After ordering, watch for our email with shipping instructions. Digital-only services still require your original part for scanning.
Files are meshes, not editable CAD or STEP models. Exact OEM fitment, strength and finish cannot be guaranteed. Printed parts may show layer lines. Tell us about loads, heat exposure and mating parts before ordering.
