Need us to create your artwork? Start a Custom Design to choose our $35 personalized-sign or $60 business/logo design service. Each design deposit includes an initial concept and two reasonable revision rounds and is credited toward your finished sign. If your supplied artwork is already essentially CNC plasma-cut ready, a separate design fee may not be needed.
Create a personalized powder-coated steel sign for your home, garage, family, wedding, hobby, or gift. Choose the steel gauge, overall dimensions, and single- or two-layer construction. Prices shown are 10% below equivalent configurations in our Custom Metal Business & Logo Signs listing.
Steel gauges: 18 gauge lightweight decorative steel (up to 36 × 36 inches), 16 gauge, 14 gauge, or 11 gauge. Two-layer 11-gauge signs use a 14-gauge backing; other two-layer signs use the selected gauge for both layers.
Finishing: One powder-coat color per layer is included. Standard choices are black, gray, blue, red, silver, and white. For two-layer signs, specify a front and backing color; single-layer signs use one color. Include colors in order notes or email them with your order number to steve@ir-fab.com.
Artwork: Upload or send your artwork or reference image. Simple personalization may require a separate $35 design deposit, fully credited to the finished sign. Complex custom artwork is quoted separately. A design deposit is not included in the listed sign price and is not an extra charge when credited.
CNC cutting design standards: Standard minimum spacing between cutouts and fine details is 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch). Some bridges and openings must be larger for strength. Single-piece designs must remain connected, and fine artwork may require simplification, bridging, or enlargement. IR Fabrication reviews final fabrication feasibility.
Sizes are maximum overall dimensions; portrait or landscape orientation is acceptable. One-color powder coating per layer is included. Prices exclude tax and shipping. Local pickup is available by confirmed appointment in Lexington, SC. Eligible sizes ship by UPS Ground; oversized signs require a separate shipping quote. Upload any reference photos, sketches, drawings, logos or inspiration images using the artwork upload field when available. You can also enter a written description of your idea in the design instructions text box. You may provide images, text, or both; professional artwork is not required. Include any names, wording, important details, and preferred orientation. We will contact you if we need more information before design work begins.

Custom design fees and revisions
Customer-supplied artwork: A separate design fee is not required only when the supplied artwork is essentially CNC plasma-cut ready and needs little to no modification. This means the design is suitable for a single connected cut piece where applicable, has adequate bridges and minimum detail spacing, and needs no significant redrawing, conversion, cleanup, or redesign. IR Fabrication will review submitted files before confirming whether they qualify. Minor routine file preparation may be included at our discretion; if meaningful changes are required, we will explain the work and obtain approval of the applicable design fee before proceeding.
Need us to create or substantially redraw your design? A $35 design deposit is required before custom design work begins. This deposit covers one initial design concept and two rounds of reasonable revisions. The deposit is credited in full toward the finished sign when you proceed with the order, and becomes nonrefundable once design work begins.
What counts as a revision? Adjustments that refine the approved direction while keeping the same basic concept, such as resizing lettering, correcting spelling, adjusting spacing, moving elements, or making modest detail changes. Related edits submitted together count as one revision round.
What counts as a new design or major design change? Replacing the original concept, switching to a substantially different layout or theme, changing the primary artwork or subject, or requesting a complete redraw after a concept has been prepared. These changes are not included in the two revision rounds; any additional design charge will be quoted and approved before work proceeds.
Additional revisions beyond the two included rounds may also incur a separately approved charge. We will review your reference images, sketches, and written instructions and reach out if we need clarification. Final fabrication and pricing depend on design complexity and CNC feasibility. Production begins after design approval and payment arrangements are complete.
